AN EXPLOSION OF LATIN FLAVOURS AT ROSE GARDEN HOTEL YANGON

20180610_130456Popular for its innovative food events, Rose Garden Hotel Yangon brings you the Latin Affair every other Sunday from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. This is second weekly happening on a lazy Sunday afternoon, alternating with the very popular Sunday Roast.

The beauty of Latino cuisine is the diversity each nationality brings to the table with its interpretation of classic dishes and in the Latin Affair, you will find a little bit of everything: Mouthwatering Jamaican Escovitch fish, unlimited Brazilian Churrascaria from the charcoal, to the signature seafood Ceviche, Tex-mex dishes, salad bar and chocolate buffet; we pretty much have you covered.

Along with the mouth-watering food offerings, we also have Latin social dancing, classes and performances from 12:00 noon onward by Ian Julius from Fusion Dance Troupe.

The Real Mojito – our recipe:

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 fluid ounces white rum
  • 1/2 cup club soda

Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.
