Clavin photographic journey TIMELESS BURMA calls the days of analogue Photography in memory and consequently the so associated artifacts that “Magic Patina”, as Clavin calls it: paper abrasion, vignetting, scratches, fraying, blurring and spots. The photographs could have been created decades ago or just recently. It is a solemn ceremony of something which almost seems to be lost, in any case, it is a declaration of love the country and its people and at their timeless values.
Malte Clavin works as a freelance photographer, speaker, author, photo director and festival organizer. He specializes in reportage, travel and portraits and pursues mainly long-term photo projects. He has published a number of books (inter alia ‘Burma – Lost and found’ and ‘The Asian View – faces and thoughts’) and his works have been published, among others, in GEO magazine, GEO.de (the German equivalent to national Geographic), SPIEGEL ONLINE, ZEIT.de, Globetrotter (Swiss travel magazine), and many more.
